I'm back!

But not here....

So things have been nuts these past few months. My wife had a kid. I started a new day job because apparently kids are expensive. BUT, I'm coming back and I'm moving shop. From now on, all my stuff is going to be housed over on my own website:

www.nathanbeattyvo.com

NOTE:  The Podcast episodes are not up yet on the new site.  I'm still working on that.  I'll let you know when I put them up again over there!

Come on over and check it out. I have a blog over there too! This is where I will be posting about everything that I'm doing. I have a lot in the works so keep checking back to see what I have in store. What kind of things am I working on?
Podcasts
Bringing back my "VO at Home" podcast!
One other program that I'm still working on. More to come!
A Vlog!
Still working on the details. More information is on the way!
Blog
I will be posting updates on projects I'm working on, articles that I have written, and much more!

As you can see, I have a lot in store. So keep checking the site for more info!

If you are interesting in having me work on your project, either contact me directly or check out my profile on Fiverr.

Bigger changes than I thought...

Hello everyone!  So I'm still here and still working on getting things moved around.  It shouldn't surprise me that this is taking a lot more time and effort than I thought.  You may also notice that the podcasts are no longer available.  I am completely aware of that and it and was an unfortunately oversight on my part.  I'm working on getting everything back together and up and running soon.  I also think I will be "changing" the format slightly.  We'll see how it goes.

In the meantime please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions at theslackjaw@gmail.com.  Thank you again for stopping by and I'll be talking to you soon!

I'm Still Here and Will Be Coming Back Soon...

Hello everyone.  I do apologize for the extended break but, if you have been paying attention you may have an idea why.  My wife had a baby about three weeks ago and I have just begun to unbury myself from the diapers and burp cloths.  Meet Annie:

Anyway, she has been keeping me pretty busy.  To add to the confusion, I have decided to make some changes to my regular website, email, and such so I'll be migrating all that soon as well.  Everything "should" stay the same in regards to the web address and email address but I will let you know if that changes.  In the meantime you can always reach me at theslackjaw@gmail.com if you have any questions or comments.  Thank you again for sticking around and I look forward to getting the puppy moving again....once I find my way out of this pile of dirty baby clothes....

The Slack Jaw Voice Over - Episode 21 - Behind the Scenes Part II

Hello again!  We actually have a podcast coming out on the day it should be coming out!  (We'll just forget that it should have been out last Monday...so just remember....forget that....)

Anyway, it's part two on how I put this thing together.  If you are not interested in podcasting or how I put this one together, then just take this message away:  PROMOTE! PROMOTE!! PROMOTE!!!

It doesn't matter if you are doing a podcast, project, cartoon, audiobook, whatever.  Promote the BAJEEBUS out of that thing.  (Do keep in mind any non-disclosure agreements you may be under though.)  But outside of that, scream it from the rooftops that you are working.  Not only is it a way to get people to look at what you are doing, but it also helps to have these things as a part of your resume so when you are ready to get an agent, they can see that you have been working your tail off and have been getting work.  They won't take you on if they don't think you are bankable.

If you are interested in how the podcast is put together, then check out the podcast.  But either way, when you get work or you are just doing some project on the side, make sure people know about it!

As always, drop me a line at nate@nathanbeattyvo.com.  You can subscribe to the podcast by clicking the RSS feed button over to the right there, or you can look us up on iTunes.   To download this episode click here.  If you like what you hear, go ahead and give us a 5 star review on iTunes.  It would really help us out. Our intro and outro music is from Mevio's Music Alley.  That's David Wilcox's Modern World.  He is one of my favorite folk artists and I highly recommend if you like that type of music to check him out.  Also, don't forget to check out our Patreon page.  Just one dollar a month would be a HUGE help.  Thanks again and I look forward to talking to you soon!  Take Care!

The Slack Jaw Voice Over - Episode 20 - Behind the Scenes Part I

Hello!  Sorry for the delay in the episode.  The schedule is going to be a bit wonky for a few weeks while some "changes" are happening but I hope to have everything on a steady schedule in a month or so.  Until then, we are going to be bit off from time to time.

Today's episode is the first of a two part series about how I do this very podcast.  I figured, this is one big way I practice every week (among other things) and if podcasting was something you were interested in, then here is one way you can do it.

Part I is mostly about the format, why it changed, and why it can be beneficial to do a podcast.  Next week we are going to talk about the nitty gritty details on how it gets on the web and into your ear holes.  (NOTE:  It is not a requirement to do a podcast to get into voice acting.  It's just a fun way to practice.  AND, you aren't fenced into one particular topic or idea.  I just happen to do mine on voice acting.  You may want to do yours on cactuses.  Cacti?  Whatever.)

The Slack Jaw Voice Over - Episode 19 - Accents and Character Voices

Hello all!  I hope you enjoyed your past few weeks.  Things got a little crazy around here as I was out of town, working on an audiobook, among other side projects as well.  But this week we are going to talk about character voices and accents.  It's important to know what you can do, and do it well.  A regular theme in this series is, practice.  And finally DO NOT BE AFRAID TO SHARE WHAT YOU ARE WORKING ON!!!!!  This way, people can help you.  Constructive criticism is extremely important to help you get better.

Well that's about the long and the short of it this week.  As always, drop me a linenate@nathanbeattyvo.com.  You can subscribe to the podcast by clicking the RSS feed button over to the right there, or you can look us up on iTunes.   To download this episode click here.  If you like what you hear, go ahead and give us a 5 star review on iTunes.  It would really help us out. No Episode This Week....

Hello everyone.  Sorry for going radio silent there for a few days.  There will be no podcast this week as I have been absolutely insanely busy.  Which is a good thing.  I actually just finished my first Audible Audiobook the other day and I'm waiting to get notes on it.  That was a bit of a project to say the least.  Putting together an audiobook is a big job no matter how you slice it and when you are doing it on your own, it takes up a lot of time.  I think I may do an episode about how I put it together but that will come later.

Anyway, I'm rambling.  I'll wrap it up here and you will be hearing from me again soon as I do have an episode that is going to be released on Monday.  As always, drop me a line.  You can subscribe to the podcast by clicking the RSS feed button over to the right there, or you can look us up on iTunes.  If you like what you hear, go ahead and give us a 5 star review on iTunes.  It would really help us out.  Also, don't forget to check out our Patreon page.  Thanks again and I look forward to talking to you soon!  Take Care!
